NICE Welfare Society has been working, as yet, in the following key areas:-
In order to fulfill our religious obligations, we have been imparting education to those who lack resources to get education. Today, a considerable number of children ranging from prep / nursery to high school level, who belong to very poor families and even do not afford their basic living, are being imparted education by the NICE at its Two Campuses located at Shahdara and Rustam Park (More Samanabad), Lahore. They are provided books, bags, uniforms, stationery items etc. to fulfill their educational needs with the help of our generous sponsors.
Today is the age of information technology. In order to impart Computer Training to the students, a Computer Lab was established at our Shahdara Campus with the generous support of National Bank of Pakistan, Corporate Social Responsibility Division, Karachi. Computer training is being imparted, Free of Charge, to the students in this Lab as per their educational and future requirements.
In order to lessen financial burdens of poor families, NICE has been working for empowering the women by making them skilled through training in the vocational skills, which is totally Free of Charge. A Vocational Training Center has been functioning for more than two years wherein vocational training in Domestic Tailoring / Dress Making, Fashion Designing and Beauty Training is imparted to women so that they are able to earn their livelihood while working at homes. On the completion of 3 months’ training program, besides award of Course Completion Certificates, participants of the training are given Sewing Machines as Gifts so that they may earn their livelihood without any further spending in this regard. Up-till March, 2020, Seven (7) Batches of vocational training programs stand passed out successfully. Through these Seven Batches, more than 250 females were trained and sewing machines given to them enabling them to earn their livelihood by doing work at their homes, independently and honorably.
Evidently, this vocational training has greatly impacted on the financial health of these families and living standards of hundreds of families improved considerably. This has further added to the prosperity of the society and the motherland. Vocational training has also enhanced their working skills and productivity as well. Success stories in this behalf have encouraged us a lot to work even harder with lot much commitment and enthusiasm.
Besides the above, NICE has started a program to rehabilitate the Special Persons (Deaf & dumb) and Transgenders by providing them vocational and technical training so that they are able to earn their livelihood at par with other family members. By doing so, they would be able to prove them as useful for their families as other family members could be.
Considering the hard realities of socioeconomic problems being faced by the common men of the society, NICE extends financial assistance and logistic support to the needy people, presently on small scale, out of its meager resources to fulfill their acute needs like basic living requirements, education of children and healthcare and / or to start their earning. It is intended that with the regular support of our sponsors, we would be able to launch micro financing services for poverty eradication. Let's join hands in this regard for a prosperous Pakistan.
NICE has been actively engaged in relief activities in the wake of Corona pandemic to provide essential services / necessary assistance & ration to the needy persons in this hour of need. Besides awareness campaign, ration was distributed among hundreds of needing persons who lost their source of earning due to lock down. During the Holy month of Ramadan, Iftar packs were presented to thousands of workers, laborers, rickshaw drivers etc.
